Harford Sports Complex

The Harford Sports Complex, formerly known as Thomas Run Park, is located on Harford’s campus and serves as the home for all of Harford's outdoor athletic teams as well as a community leagues.

The Complex includes Harford Stadium, home of the Fighting Owls' lacrosse and soccer teams, the Varsity Baseball Field, home of the Fighting Owls' baseball team, the Varsity Softball Field, home of the Fighting Owls' softball team and the brand-new Cross Country Course. Within the confines are two other recreation fields for community baseball and softball leagues, three grass practice fields and the HSC Building, which houses offices and a training room.

The Harford Sports Complex is equipped with an advanced warning system for lightning installed for the safety of its patrons. The Thorguardian System continuously monitors the atmosphere’s electrostatic energy as far away as 15 miles and evaluates the potential for lightning within an area approximately 2 miles in radius.

When the system determines a hazardous condition, the air-horns and strobe lights will activate. You will be warned by a horn that sounds for 15 seconds followed by a strobe light. The strobe light will remain flashing until a safe condition returns.

Upon activation of the system YOU MUST EVACUATE THE SPORTS COMPLEX, until the all clear is given by 3 five second horn blasts. If you remain outdoors after the warning is issued, you do so at your own risk.
