Women's Hoops Improves To 2-0 With 58-49 Win

MAYS LANDING, N.J. - The Harford women's basketball team won its second game to open the 2010-11 season on the road in a 58-49 victory over Atlantic Cape on Saturday. Freshman Amanda Mackey had the best game of her early career with 11 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks.

Tiff Smith led the Fighting Owls with 19 points and 13 rebounds, her second double-double in as many games. She also added four steals and three assists. Tiffany Taylor totaled 13 points despite being plagued with foul trouble all afternoon.

Tori Pyzik had six steals in head coach Ashley Sammons full-court pressure defense. The Fighting Owls return home for a conference contest against Dundalk on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The contest will air via tape delay on the Harford Sports Network on the Harford Cable Network
