BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (4-6, 1-4 MDJUCO) fell behind early and had its furious comeback fall short against Anne Arundel (4-5, 3-3 MDJUCO) on Saturday, 63-53. Trailing by as many as 21 points in the second half, the Fighting Owls cut the lead to single digits, but eventually fell in the conference contest.
The Fighting Owls shot 26.7 percent in the loss and made just two 3-pointers, both of which came late in the second half.
Tiffany Taylor tallied her fourth double-double of the season, and third in her last four games, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She also added six steals to give her 39 on the season, a total ranking fourth in the conference.
Sharee Gaither added 13 points and seven rebounds while
Amanda Mackey and
Aniya Rolle chipped in with eight points each.
Tiff Smith pulled in double-figure rebounds for the third time this year with 11.
The Fighting Owls take on Cecil at home on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
