Women's Basketball Drops Contest Against Cecil, 86-68

BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team fell to 4-6 after an 86-68 defeat to Cecil on Wednesday during the final season of basketball inside the Susquehanna Center. Tiffany Taylor led all scorers and rebounders with 27 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.

Taylor scored her 27 points on on 9-of-20 shooting and 7-of-10 accuracy from the charity stripe. She connected on a pair of 3-pointers, added a team-high four assists while blocking a shot and nabbing two steals. 16 of her 19 rebounds were on the defensive glass.

The game was decided on the boards, where the Seahawks held a 65-47 advantage, including 31 offensive rebounds. The Fighting Owls managed just 13 second chances, converting nine points to Cecil's 27 second-chance points.

Sharee Gaither and Aniya Rolle added 15 and 14 points, respectively. Jaclyn Hall had a balanced game with seven points and five rebounds. Her seven markers were the second-highest point total of her career, just under the 10-point effort on opening night.

The Fighting Owls return to the Susquehanna Center hardwood for the final game of their six-game homestand on Saturday against Mercer at noon. The women's team will have just three home games remaining after this weekend.
