BEL AIR, Md.—The Harford baseball team scored 85 runs on 73 hits in 18 innings last weekend as they swept doubleheaders from Roxbury (24-2, 5 inn.; 30-4, 5 inn.) and Jefferson (15-5, 6 inn.; 16-6, 5 inn.) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, at Harford Baseball Field.
Sophomore Joe Harbach (Abingdon, Md./Edgewood) led the Fighting Owls (13-5), going 9-for-10 on the weekend with two doubles, two home runs, four walks, one hit by pitch, 10 runs scored, six RBI and four stolen bases.
Harbach was one of six Owl players to hit a dinger on the weekend, with both of his long balls coming in consecutive at-bats in Sunday's game one against Jefferson, while freshman Christian Wolfe (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) had three homers on the weekend and totaled 14 RBI.
On the mound, freshman Brock Krumanocker (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) (2-0) and sophomore Bo Loar (Fallston, Md./Fallston) (3-0) combined for Saturday's wins over Roxbury with Krumanocker striking out six and allowing two runs on four hits in four innings and Loar letting in four runs (three earned) on seven hits, while fanning five batters in five innings.
Sophomore Chris Peacher (Abingdon, Md./Harford Tech) (2-0) and freshman Jordan Lozzi (Fallston, Md./Fallston (2-0) earned the victories on Sunday against Jefferson with Peacher allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one in 3.1 innings, while Lozzi fanned three batters and gave up four runs on three hits in four innings of work.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Tuesday when they host Prince George's for a 3:30 p.m. game at Harford Baseball Field.
