NORTH EAST, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (5-9, 1-5) lost a road conference match at Cecil (10-6, 2-2) on Saturday, 64-53.
The Fighting Owls trailed by seven points at the half, 34-27, but lived up to their nickname and fought back early on in the second half. A 3-pointer by
Aniya Rolle gave Harford a 40-39 lead with 13:42 remaining. Cecil, however, came right back to take the lead and never trailed again.
Despite struggling through foul trouble, freshman
Tiffany Taylor led the way with 17 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
Tiff Smith shot 4-for-27 to finish with 13 points, while Rolle added 14 points on 4-for-20 shooting.
Cecil was led by Erin Pinkett's 22 points.
The Fighting Owls continue their road trip at Frederick on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
