ABERDEEN, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (0-2) let a late lead slip away in a one-point loss in its home opener on Friday, falling 66-65 to Atlantic Cape.

Freshman big Kam Owens scored 14 points and grabbed a career-best 19 rebounds. Shelby Key and Bree Lewis each scored 15 points, while Lewis added eight boards and four assists and Key chipped in with nine steals.

The Fighting Owls led 34-29 at the break, but the Buccaneers stayed close and took the lead late in the contest, holding on for the road win.

The Fighting Owls travel to Delaware County on Tuesday.
