BRUNSWICK, N.C. - The Harford baseball team dropped its first two games of the season on Saturday against Brunswick. Playing outside for the first time all season, the Fighting Owls looked rusty, losing 9-1 and 2-1.

Harford committed three errors while collecting just three hits in the opening day loss. Sophomore right-hander
Dom Vattuone pitched well, but took the loss. He allowed four runs, just two earned, in three innings, striking out four and walking just one.
Brunswick 2, Harford 1
The Fighting Owls left nine runners on base, including the bases loaded in the second and third and a runner on third in the first and sixth innings.

Corey Taylor tossed a complete game in the loss, striking out five while walking just one. Both Brunswick runs scored with two outs, in the second and third innings, respectively.

Alex Riley went 2-for-4 with a double, and freshman
Corey Shaver went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI double in the second. Overall in the doubleheader, sophomore designated hitter
Simon Beloff reached base five times, going 1-for-3 while drawing four walks.
The Fighting Owls close out the opening weekend road trip on Sunday with a doubleheader against Brunswick, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
