Corey Taylor held the Pioneers to one run on four hits, but the Fighting Owl offense couldn't manufacture a run in the loss.
Taylor tossed his second complete game in the loss, striking out seven while walking just two. The lone Anne Arundel run scored in the fifth inning when the Pioneers executed a double steal with runners on first and third.
In the ninth inning, rookie
James Wilson tried to mount a Fighting Owl comeback with a two-out double, but the game would end with a groundout to second.
The Fighting Owls managed just four hits in the loss.
