BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team (6-4) swept Camden County on Wednesday in the team's home opener at Harford Sports Complex. The Fighting Owls won 5-3 and 6-5.

The Fighting Owls jumped out to a 5-1 lead and held off a late rally in the opener. Freshman
Vinnie Cautillo earned his first career win, tossing two innings of scoreless relief. He allowed two hits and struck out a pair.
Jack Hine pitched a one-hit seventh for his first career save.
Matt Gray went 3-for-3 with a two-run single in the fourth inning that broke the game open.
Nick Octavi and
James Wilson each had two hits in the win.
Harford 6, Camden 5
The Harford pitching staff struck out 12 batters and held the Cougars to just five hits, but walked nine batters and hit another in the 6-5 win. The Fighting Owls led 6-1 heading into the sixth inning, before
Taylor Nelson earned his second save of the season.
Dom Vattuone improved to 2-1 in two innings of work, striking out two and allowing one run on two hits.
Offensively, Octavi and Wilson each had a pair of hits, while
Simon Beloff and
Pete Harbach added doubles in the win.
Harford contiues its homestand with a conference doubleheader on Saturday against Allegeny at noon.
