LA PLATA, Md. - The Harford softball team (0-7) played its best game of the season on Wednesday, but dropped a pair of contests at Southern Maryland. The Fighting Owls lost 10-2 in six innings in the opener, and fought hard in a 3-2 loss in game two.
In the nightcap,
Rachael Lange tossed a complete game, and really got into her groove in the later half of the contest. She allowed an unearned run in the first inning, and two runs crossed in the second. After that, the righthander did not allow a run past second base.
Ashley Crowe and
Jess Langrehr both added two hit contests while each picking up an RBI.
In game one,
Sam Styles allowed just three hits, but was touched up for multiple runs in the loss.
The Fighting Owls open up the home portion of their schedule on Saturday with a doubleheader against Garrett. First pitch is at noon.
