Softball Ties Win Mark With Good Friday Split

BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford softball team (13-19, 5-9) tied the school record for wins on Friday in a doubleheader split against Frederick. The Fighting Owls 13th victory of the year came in game one with an 11-1 win before dropping game two 12-5.

In game one, the hot Harford bats gave Rachael Lange plenty of support. The big inning came in the second when the hit parade produced eight runs. Lange also added a monster double off the wall to help pace the offense.

In game two, Rischelle Griffin blasted a two-run double to help tie the game at 4-4, but errors did the Fighting Owls in, in the eventual 12-5.

Lange was the pitcher of record in both games, improving to 7-9 on the year.

The Fighting Owls return to the diamond on Saturday for Sophomore Night at noon.
