ABERDEEN, Md. - The Harford baseball team extended their win streak to 13 games with a 12-3 victory over Essex on Thursday in a game played at Ripken Stadium. The Fighting Owls also imporved their school record win total to 37 with their 18th conference win of the year.
Alex Riley was one of many offensive stars on Sophomore Night. The centerfielder went 4-for-5 and stole his career-best 36th base of the season while knocking in three runs.
Cory Shaver collected three hits with two RBIs and
James Wilson knocked in three with two hits, including his second home run of the season, a deep shot to left center.
Ryan Neukam was one of six Fighting Owl pitchers in the contest. He went three innings to earn the victory and improve to 2-0.
Christian Wolfe collected two hits and
Jonathan Castro scored twice in the win.
The Fighting Owls travel to Hagerstown on Saturday, where one win will lock up the top seed in next months Region XX Tournament.
