ABERDEEN, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (7-11, 2-6) earned a 57-38 conference victory over Southern Maryland (2-11, 0-6) on Friday in the team's annual Think Pink contest. The Fighting Owls forced more turnovers (41) than points allowed (38) in their second league win.
Kebrina Johnson earned a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard
Shelby Key le all players with 18 points while
Kourtney Orr puled in a game-high 12 rebounds. Key added nine rebounds and seven steals to her total.
Maggie Shifflett pulled in nine rebounds in the win.
Bree Lewis had nine oints and seven boards and
Rachel Cocoros chipped in with eight points and seven caroms.
Harford wore pink tie-dye shirts during warm-ups and the coaching staff wore them throughout the contest. The teams played with a pink basketball, all in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer. The department had numerous contests for the fans to raise money for Cancer Life Net.
