Women's Hoops Loses First Game Shorthanded

Box Score
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Playing without its heart and soul, the Harford women's basketball team (8-1, 3-1 MD JUCO) lost its first game of the season, 73-58, at Montgomery (9-2, 3-1 MD JUCO) on Saturday. The Fighting Owls were missing Tiffany Taylor, their emotional leader, who was attending the funeral of her grandmother.

Freshman Capree Garner continued her torrid pace, scoring 37 points in the loss. The MD JUCO November Student-Athlete of the Month upped her scoring average to 25.1 points per game, a total that leads the conference and ranks second in the nation, just 0.1 ppg behind Southwestern Illinois' Janelle Cannon.

No other Fighting Owl reached double figures in defeat. Taylor ranks fourth in the MD JUCO with 20.1 ppg.

Harford takes a break for finals and returns to the hardwood for three games in three days at the Brunswick Tournament on Dec. 17.
