BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford softball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader with Cecil on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls lost 7-0 in the opener and 10-6 in the nightcap.
Harford managed just two singles in the first game, and the Seahawks scored a run in each of the last five innings to take game one.
In game two,
Megan Appold led the offensive charge with a 3-for-4 effort that included four RBIs, a home run and a two-run double. The Fighting Owls tied the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the second inning, but Cecil scored four runs on just one hit in the top of the seventh.
Harford loaded the bases with two outs, bringing the tying run to the plate, but a deep flyout to rightfield ended the contest.
Brooke Olszewski went 2-for-3 with a double,
Ashley Crowe scored twice and
Jess Sanders reached base three times in a losing effort for Harford.
The Fighting Owls travel to Prince George's on March 24 at noon.
