LARGO, Md. - The No. 17 Harford baseball team (33-8, 18-1 MD JUCO) scored 17 runs en route to its 14th-straight conference win on Tuesday. The Fighting Owls bested Prince George's 17-1 on the road.
Tied 1-1 after one inning, the Fighting Owls score 16 unanswered runs in the victory. Freshman
Jon Daniel (2-2) scattered three hits resulting in one run while earning the win.
Ryan Neukam tossed a pair of perect innings in relief , while
Sal Purpura and
Jade Wilson also pitched scoreless frames.
Rookie
Sean Downing went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while three others added two hits.
Justin Malehorn and
Dennis Mitchell each went 2-for-3, while
Kyle Lindsey went 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs, a walk and a sacrifice fly.
The 14 consecutive MD JUCO victories started on March 27 against PG after a 5-3 loss at Cecil. On Thursday, the Fighting Owls will look to avenge its lone conference defeat against Cecil at Ripken Stadium with a 6:30 p.m. start. Tickets are $5 at the dor, or just $1 in advance.
