Short-Handed Women Top Frederick, 85-71

Box Score
FREDERICK, Md. - Despite playing without its starting point guard, the No. 25 Harford women's basketball team (19-2, 8-1 MD JUCO) never trailed in an 85-71 victory at Frederick (13-9, 5-6 MD JUCO) on Saturday. The Fighting Owls were forced to play with just six players in the win.

Harford's sophomore floor general Shelby Key suffered an ankle injury in Thursday's loss to ASA, and head coach Ashley Sammons held her out of the weekend contest. In her absence, Tiffany Taylor and Capree Garner each scored 29 points and recorded double-doubles in the victory. Garner pulled in 12 boards while Taylor added 10.

Bree Lewis battled through her nagging injury to score nine points and grab eight caroms. The Fighting Owls outrebounded the Cougars 40-34. Rachel Cocoros and Na'Kya Keitt chipped in with eight points each.

The Fighting Owls return home for a three-game homestand beginning on Monday at 5 p.m. against Philadelphia.
