LA PLATA, Md. - The No. 25 Harford women's basketball team (12-1, 4-1 MD JUCO) picked up right where they left off after the holiday break and cruised to an 84-53 conference victory over Southern Maryland (5-7, 3-4 MD JUCO) on the road on Thursday. The nation's leading scorer Capree Garner paced the attack with 29 points.

Garner was nearly flawless in the MD JUCO win, shooting 11-for-18 from the floor, 3-for-4 from distance and a perfect 4-for-4 from the line. She also added eight rebounds, eight assists and eight steals to complete her all-around effort.

Tiffany Taylor, who entered the game fourth in scoring in the conference, also cracked the 20-point plateau with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor nailed four triples and collected three steals.

Shelby Key and Na'kya Keitt both reached double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

The Fighting Owls shot 15-for-16 from the free throw line and outrebounded the Hawks 37-28. They also forced 29 turnovers and nabbed 17 steals in the win.

Harford travels to Burlington on Saturday for a make-up contest from the first week of the season.
