BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team won its school record 21st game of the season on Wednesday, defeating Howard, 88-62. The win guarantees a first-round bye for the Fighting Owls in next month's MD JUCO Tournament, held at the APGFCU Arena in Harford.
A trio of Fighting Owls reached the 20-point plateau, led by the nation's leading scorer,
Capree Garner's 27.
Tiffany Taylor added 23 and
Rachel Cocoros netted 20 for the second-straight game.
Taylor's 23 gives her 997 points for her amazing career, just three points away from becoming the first Fighting Owls to record 1,000 points in a career. She is set to reach that milestone on Friday during Sophomore Night at the APGFCU Arena.
Taylor went 6-of-12 from the floor and a perfect 10-for-10 from the line while handing out five assists. Garner went 9-for-16 from the floor while also handing out five dimes and colecting seven steals. Cocoros, who scored a career-high 22 on Monday, went 8-for-15 from the floor, including three triples in the win.
