Hand's Heroics, Dowding's Saves Give Men's Soccer Win

Box Score
BEL AIR, Md. - Freshman forward Nat Hand broke a 2-2 in the 88th minute with the game-winning goal to help Harford remain undefeated in conference play. Hand's foot gave the men's soccer team a 3-2 victory over Southern Maryland on Wednesday.

The teams traded goals in the first half, but a goal from Asa Driscoll gave the Fighting Owls a 2-1 lead with 18 minutes remaining. Harford celebrated, but the Hawks responded with a quick equalizer just 85 seconds later.

After numerous chances on both halves, Armando Ercole feathered a ball through the defense and over Hand's head. The freshman forward then raced to the ball and flipped it over the keeper with 2:45 remaining on the clock for the win.

Hand and Ercole hooked up for the game's first goal, with Ercole finding the back of the net. Ian Dowding made two tremendous leaping saves to earn the win in 90 minutes.

The first-place Fighting Owls travel to Prince George's on Friday at 6 p.m.
