WYE MILLS, Md. - The Harford women's basketball team (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season, falling at two-time defending MD JUCO Champion Chesapeake (9-0) on Wednesday, 87-79.
The loss snaps a six-game win streak to open the season as well as an eight-game conference win streak. Entering the contest, Harford had won 10 of its last 11 MD JUCO games.
In a matchup of the top two teams in the conference, the Skipjacks held court at home. Chesapeake topped Harford in last year's MD JUCO final at Harford, while the Fighting Owls won the regular season matchup at Chesapeake to claim the school's first regular season title.
The Fighting Owls held a 32-28 lead at the break but shot poorly from the line and committed 31 turnovers in the loss. The conference's leading scorer

Dasha Moore chipped in with 15 while

Toineisha Nightingale pulled in a career-high 16 rebounds in the loss, while
Monique Cheek chipped in with nine points.
