SUPPLY, N.C. - The Harford women's basketball team (12-3) dropped a pair of games to open the Brunswick Holiday Tournament this weekend. The loses mark the first time that the Fighting Owls have dropped back-to-back contests for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

The Fighting Owls lost 76-57 on Thursday to Catawba Valley to open the tourney and then fell 78-72 to No. 8 Cape Fear on Friday.

Capree Garner netted a team-best 26 points in the loss on Thursday. She added 11 rebounds for Harford to record the double-double.

On Friday, Garner and Ashley Smith both recorded 19 points, but the Sea Devil defense forced 23 Harford turnovers in the loss. Dasha Moore had 12 points and seven rebounds against CFCC, while Monique Cheek and Connor Hanley had 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Fighting Owls take on the host Brunswick on Saturday.
