The Fighting Owls were led by another outstanding performance by freshman right-hander Cody Brittain who tossed his second one-hitter of the season. Brittain moved to 3-1 on the season, striking out four batters while walking none.

After stranding two runners in the fifth, Donkin struck out the side in the top of the sixth.

Freshman Shane Garrett, the nation's leading hitter, went 1-2 in game two after going 2-4 in game one to extend his season opening 18-game hit streak while scoring three runs.
