Catonsville Tops Baseball, 11-5

Box Score
BALTIMORE, Md. - The Harford baseball team (19-5, 7-1 MD JUCO) dropped its first conference contest at CCBC Catonsville (15-6, 7-0 MD JUCO) on Sunday, 11-5. The loss is the first MD JUCO loss for the Fighting Owls since a 12-11 defeat at Catonsville last year.

An 11-run Cardinal sixth inning blew the game wide open. Sophomore Mike Torres (4-1) scattered six hits through the first five scoreless innings, but allowed a leadoff home run to outfielder Mike Williams and didn't record an out in the frame, suffering his first loss of the season.

Three other Fighting Owl pitchers struggled to get out of the busy frame which put Harford in a hole that even the most potent offense in the nation (10.3 runs per game) couldn't overcome.

Offensively, Norm Donkin went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs while Shane Garrett recorded his second-straight four hit game to extend his hit streak to 23 games.

Harford travels to Prince George's on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
