BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford softball team (0-3) fell 11-5 against Niagara on Tuesday in the home opener. The Fighting Owls led 11-3 in a darken-shortend game two, but the contest only last 3.5 innings, thus didn't count in the overall record.
The Fighting Owls couldn't handle the Thunderwolves' small-ball in the opener, as Niagara scored early and often.
Brittany Stein fell to 0-2 on the year in the loss.
Deanna Butler went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs batted in.
The Fighting Owls are back at home on Friday against Erie at 2 p.m.
