Baseball Walks Away With 13-12 Victory

BEL AIR, Md. - On a night that saw the Fighting Owl pitching staff walk 17 batters, the Harford baseball team (24-6) was able to walk away with a 13-12 victory over Salem on Tuesday night.

Matt Petrizzi went 4-for-5 and knocked in five runs while Rob Koski also brought home five runs, but did so on two hits. Jerry Jerminski went 3-for-5, scoring three times and Nick Freeberger scored four runs in the win.

Connor Schwienebart earned his first win of the season allowing one unearned run on one hit in 2.1 innings of relief work. Matt Barbour got the start in the game but couldn't get out of the second inning, allowing six runs on no hits but nine walks.

Sal Purpura tossed three solid innings out of the pen to earn the hold, while Trevor Alley faced the minimum in the ninth to earn his second save of the season.

The Fighting Owls take on Gloucester on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Harford Sports Complex.
