ARNOLD, Md. - The Harford softball team (8-9, 6-4 MD JUCO) split its midweek doubleheader at Anne Arundel (8-14, 3-5 MD JUCO), winning the opener 7-2 and falling in game two, 5-3.
Brittany Stein (6-6) earned the win in the opener, but took the loss in the nightcap. Offensively,
Abby Young was the star in game one, going 3-for-4 with her fourth home run of the season.
In game two, Harford jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but the Pioneers scored a pair in the third and fourth innings to take the lead. The Fighting Owls threatened in the last frame, but their 3-4-5 hitters came up empty to end the game.
Erin Morrissey went 2-for-3 in the loss. The Fighting Owls host Montgomery on Saturday at noon.
