FREDERICK, Md. - The Harford baseball team (25-9, 11-3 MD JUCO) was swept in a conference doubleheader at Frederick (25-8, 10-2 MD JUCO) on Saturday.

The losses mark the first time the Fighting Owls have dropped back-to-back games this season. It also marked the first time Harford was swept in a doubleheader since Feb. 15, 2012 and the first time a Tom Eller coached team was swept by an MD JUCO foe since May 1, 2011, also at Frederick.

Frederick 7, Harford 6
A Fighting Owl rally came up one-run short in the opener. Trailing 7-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, Harford scored three runs with two outs, but it wasn't enough as John Rickards got the final out with runners at the corners.

Nick Freeberger, Jerry Jerminski and Jordan Glover had two hits each, and Jerminski drove in two runs. Koski had an RBI double in the seventh and caught every inning of the doubleheader.

Frederick 2, Harford 1 (12)
Freshman Cody Brittain walked in the winning run in the 12th inning as Harford dropped the longest game of the season.

The game reached extra innings with no score and Harford cracked the scoreboard first with a run in the eighth. Frederick countered with an unearned run in the bottom of the frame and the game continued until the 12th inning.

Both teams had their chances, and the Cougars earned the win on a bases loaded walk with one out.

Shane Garrett and Norm Donkin both had two hits in the loss. Matt Petrizzi went seven innings of scoreless baseball, striking out five. Donkin tossed three innings of relief, scattering four hit and allowing one unearned run. Brittain took the loss in 1.1 innings.

Harford travels to CCBC Essex on Tuesday.
