Box Score ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Harford women's basketball team earned a 107-33 victory over Northern Virginia in both team's season openers on Saturday. The Fighting Owls will open the home portion of the schedule on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Ashley Smith led the way and outscored the entire NOVA roster with 39 points in the victory. The returning point guard added seven steals and six assists.
Mia Fitts tallied 21 points and 10 steals for a double-double in her first full game in a Harford uniform. She suffered a season-ending injury in the opener last year.
The Fighting Owls opened the game on a 24-2 run and cruised to the victory. Freshman
Jasalyn Denkins totaled 10 points and 15 rebounds while
Tori Pennington added 14 markers.
The Fighting Owls host Delaware County on Wednesday inside the APG Federal Credit Union Arena with the home-opening tip scheduled for 5 p.m.
