Box Score SUPPLY, N.C. - The Harford women's basketball team (8-4) won its third-straight game on Wednesday in the opening contest of the Brunswick Christmas Classic. The Fighting Owls won a sloppy affair over Caldwell (0-8), 65-51.
The Fighting Owls held a 28-21 lead at the break and stretched it to 15 midway through the second half before the Cobras cut lead back to seven, 50-43. Another mini Harford run extended the lead back to double digits for the final margin.
Ashley Smith led Harford with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Jasalyn Denkins followed up her buzzer-beating performance with a 17-point effort in the win.
Zana Godoy chipped in with 13 points and six helpers and
Mia Fitts added nine points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The Fighting Owls take on Guilford Tech on Thursday at 10 a.m.
