ARNOLD, Md. - The No. 2 Harford women's basketball team adavanced to the 2014 MD JUCO Semifinals with a 96-44 victory over No. 7 Southern Maryland in the Quarterfinal Round on Saturday. The Fighting Owls will face No. 3 Frederick on Sunday.

Monique Cheek was the star of the day with near triple-double. She tallied 17 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the playoff win.

Capree Garner led all scorers with 26 points, while Ashley Smith 23 points and eight assists. Connor Hanley chipped in with 12 points while Chrineisha Tedder added 11 rebounds.

The Fighting Owls went 18-for-21 from the free-throw line and totaled 26 assists against just 14 turnovers.

Harford will face Frederick on Sunday at Prince George's for the right to play in Monday's MD JUCO Championship.
