BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team improved to 3-0 in conference play with a 9-2 victory over Prince George's at home on Tuesday.
Anthony Stricker won his second game in four days on the hill.
The Fighting Owls took a while to get the offense rolling, but when they did, the runs came in bunches. Entering the bottom of the fourth, the game was scoreless until Harford plated five runs to take control.
That's all Stricker would need, as he left after five innings of shutout baseball with a 5-0 lead. The right-hander scattered five hits and struck out three while walking just one to improve to 2-1 on the year.
Cody Brittain went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and
CJ Young went 0-for-3 with three RBIs and a pair of sacrifice bunts.
Brandon Smith also went 0-for-3, but collected two RBIs.
The Fighting Owls played add-on late in the game to finish up the scoring. PG plated two runs in the final four inning against four Fighting Owl relievers.
Harford hosts Delaware County on Wednesday at 3 p.m. and Thursday's game against CCBC Dundalk, that was origianlly scheduled as a road game, has switched to a home game at Harford Sports Complex at 3:30 p.m.
