ARNOLD, Md. - The Harford softball team (4-4, 2-0 MD JUCO) cruised to a doubleheader sweep over Anne Arundel on Friday. The Fighting Owls won 8-4 and 9-2 to win their conference openers.

In game one, Sam Sullivan was the two-way star, striking out 10 as the winning pitcher and clubbing a home run at the plate. Sam Day went 4-for-5 and Madison Ferrara chipped in with her first career home run in the win.

In game two, Day earned the win (2-4) while Britney Fleming went 3-for-4 at the dish. Abby Young contributed a game-changing three-run triple.

The Fighting Owls host Mercer County on Saturday at noon.
