BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford softball team (6-6, 4-0 MD JUCO) swept Cecil (1-5, 0-2 MD JUCO) to remain unbeaten in conference play on Friday.

Madison Smith and
Sam Day plated a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning, a pair of runs they would need in a 6-5 victory to open the day. Sam Sullivan earned the win and struck out a Seahawk for the final out to snuff out a lat-inning rally.
Abby Young went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Eight of the nine Fighting Owls collected a hit, as Day, Sullivan and Smith chipped in with a pair of knocks.
Sullivan went the distance for her third win of the season.
Harford broke a 1-1 tie with a pair in the third on RBis from Young and
Fabiana Della-Monica. Young plated Day in the fifth to extend the lead.
Harford 9, Cecil 1
The Fighting Owls ended the nightcap early with a 9-1 romp. Harford scored the nine runs on 11 hits to remain unbeaten in MD JUCO action.
Four Fighting Owls had a pair of hits, including Sullivan, who went 2-for-2. Della Monica, Young and
Tori Brooks also achieved the honor. Brooks had a triple and the others added a double.
Day scattered eight hits while allowing one earned run for the win. She struck out three and walked a pair.
The Fighting Owls travel to Frederick on Saturday for a pair beginning at noon.
