Box Score 2 BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford softball team (12-17, 10-6 MD JUCO) earned a conference sweep over Montgomery (4-14, 4-12 MD JUCO) with a pair of 16-run outbursts. The Fighting Owls won 16-5 and 16-12.
In the opener, the Fighting Owls were issued 14 free passes and hit twice en route to the blowout victory. Harford collected 10 hits at totaled 14 RBIs.
Sam Day went 2-for-2 with four runs scored and
Madison Ferrara had a team-best three RBIs.
Madison Smith and
Tori Brooks scored three times.
Game two had the same feel of game one, as 11 Fighting Owls came to the plate in the first inning before an out was recorded. Harford scored seven runs and looked to be well on its way to another shortened victory, but the Raptors clawed their way back.
Smith went 4-for-5 and was one of three Fighting Owls to score three times. Sam Sullivan and
Fabiana Della-Monica both knocked in three Fighting Owls in the win.
