Box Score 2 BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team (13-16-1) dropped a pair to defending national champion Gloucester (13-5) on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls fell 11-0 and 12-7 behind powerful pitching performances by the Roadrunners.
The Fighting Owl offense was no match for Gloucester ace Mike Sullivan. The lefthander entered the game with a 2-0 mark and a 0.46 earned-run average and an 11.9 K/9. He lived up to the hype, going the distance in the opener, fanning 12, scattering five hits and lowering his ERA to 0.34.
CJ Young was the lone Fighting Owl to collect multiple hits in the shutout loss.
In game two, the bats awakened in the nightcap. a four-run fourth inning brought the Fighting Owls within striking distance, however, that threat ended as a strikeout with the bases loaded proved to be costly.
