Darra Walker carried the Harford women's basketball team on her back to a 75-73 victory over Guilford Tech on the final day of the Brunswick Holiday Tournament on Friday. The sophomore guard scored 27 points while handing out seven assists and collecting seven boards.
Walker would not let the Fighting Owls taste defeat for the second time in three days, setting a personal-best in points for the second-straight day. She made four triples and swiped four steals in the all-around solid effort.
Mia Fitts scored 10 points, but collected her fourth foul early in the final quarter, forcing
Michael Seney to look toward his bench.
Nazje Norton was the fill-in, and she filled in nicely, connecting on two clutch 3-pointers to keep the Fighting wls ahead.
Dominique Walker scored 13 points, had nine rebounds and four blocked shots in the win while
Janessa Fauntroy and
Diamond Mickle split minutes and both pulled in 10 caroms.
The Fighting Owls (11-2) return to the hardwood in the new year when they host Cecil on Jan. 6.
