Desi Joines threw her second no-hitter of the season as the Harford softball team (10-1) swept Niagara at home on Friday. The Fighting Owls won game one 12-0 and game two 15-1.
Harford 12, Niagara 0Joines struck out nine batters in her second no-no of the month. She set the first 10 down in order before hitting the 11th batter of the day. After walking the next batter,
Tori Brooks turned a double-play to get out of a jam. Joines struck out the side in the third and fifth innings.
The Fighting Owls batted around in the first and second innings, scoring seven and four runs in the frames. Brooks had a pair of singles in the first inning, scoring once and knocking in another.

Fabiana Della-Monica and
Britney Fleming also collected a pair of hits in the win, while Brooks, Fleming and
Lindsey Fenner knocked in a pair.
Harford 15, Niagara 1Three Fighting Owls homered in the nightcap and
Katie Shultz improved to 4-0 on the year in the win. Every batter collected at least one hit and six players had two base knocks.
Shultz went the distance, striking out five, allowing just two hits and one run. NCCC took a 1-0 lead with a leadoff triple and an RBI groundout before the Harford offense went to work.
Della-Monica and Fleming homered in the third inning and
Tori Brooks clubbed a grand slam in the fourth.Â
Harford hosts Frederick (6-6) on Saturday at noon at the Harford Sports Complex on the turf baseball field.
