Box Score 2 LINCROFT, N.J. - The Harford softball team (22-7) earned a road split with No. 3 Brookdale (17-7) on Sunday. The Fighting Owls won game one behind another masterful pitching performance from
Desi Joines.
Joines shut down one of the top offenses in the nation with a three-hit shutout in the 4-0 game one victory. The freshman tied her career-high with 14 strikeouts without walking a batter. The Jersey Blues entered the game averaging 9.9 runs per game.
Brookdale bounced back to win game two 12-6 with 14 hits, one double and one home run.
Katie Shultz struggled in the loss, but Joines came in relief and struck out 10 batters.
Mackenzie Fitzgerald slugged a pair of home runs to provide offensive fireworks for Harford.
The Fighting Owls travel to Allegany on Wednesday.
