Box Score 2 CUMBERLAND, Md. - The Harford softball team improved to 24-7 and 13-1 in MD JUCO play with a Wednesday sweep of Allegany. The victories set up a first-place showdown for the Fighting Owls at Chesapeake (18-8, 9-1 MD JUCO) on Saturday.
In game one,
Desi Joines set the school record for victories in the opener, winning her 14th decision for the Fighting Owls. She scattered four hits and struck out 10 in the win, giving her another school record 184 strikeouts on the year.
Bethanie Cook went 3-for-4 and
Mackenzie Fitzgerald smacked her seventh home run of the year. Eight of nine batter collected at least one hit, while five Fighting Owls had multiple hits in the win.
The Fighting Owls huge MD JUCO doubleheader at Chesapeake begins at noon on Saturday.
