Box Score KEYSER, W.Va. - The second-seeded Harford baseball team (42-14) bounced back with a 16-run outburst in an elimination game against No. 4 Chesapeake on Friday. The Fighting Owls scored 14 of the final 15 runs to bounce the Skipjacks from the tournament.
Austin Griffie tossed a season-best 6.1 innings out of the bullpen to improve to 4-0 on the season. He was dominant at times, striking out the side in the sixth inning and finishing with six strikeouts.
The Fighting Owls had 21 hits and scored in seven of the eight innings.
Jamal Clarke totaled five RBIs and
Brett Hash reached base safely in every plate appearance.
John Mastrangelo also was on fire at the plate, going 4-for-6 in the win.
The Fighting Owls will play the loser of the Potomac State/Hagerstown contest on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.Â
