Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Kuhn's Corner Gives Women First Win

BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 12 Harford women's soccer team scored the final two goals in a five-minute span to defeat Louisburg, 3-2, on Friday. Sophomores Natalie Decker and Angela Kuhn's markers flipped a 2-1 deficit into the first victory of the year.

Decker corralled a misplay in front of the net and spun it into the equalizer just seconds after the Hurricanes took a 2-1 lead. Moments later, the Fighting owls scored their second goal of the day off of a corner kick, as Abbie Springer's pass was perfectly placed for the game-winner off Kuhn's foot in the 61st minute. It was the second time this season that Springer and Kuhn have connected on a corner in as many contests.

Brooke Tauber scored her first career goal to give Harford a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. Springer sent the corner into the box and Kuhn blasted a shot that was saved by a Hurricane defensive player. That rebound found Tauber, and she found the back of the net.

Louisburg would tie the score just six minutes later on a give-and-go by Hannah Rayman and Allexis Taylor. Carisa Jones broke a 1-1 tie in the 57th minute on a breakaway off an assist by Rayman.

Harford had only two shots on goal in the second-half, both resulting in goals. Jazmine Thacker earned her first collegiate victory by making eight saves, four in each half. The Fighting Owls hit the road for the first time this season with a non-conference tilt at Rowan-Burlington on Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.
