HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Larsen Green continued to produce for the Fighting Owls as he was able to finish a great cross by Assaro to give Harford an early 1-0 lead after just 10 minutes of play.
  • The game went into halftime with that same score as both teams struggled to get dangerous chances towards goal.
  • Catonsville looked like they couldn't possibly score as they went 77 minutes without a shot on goal, until they sucker punched the Harford defense as the Cardinals would score two goals within two minutes of each other to take a shocking 2-1 lead.
  • Frank Assaro showed up big time as the hero as Ayoub Fouadi got to the baseline, passed to the middle to Daniel Milad, who slid the ball over to Assaro for a point blank goal to tie the game with just under three minutes left in regulation.
  • Neither team generated much during the two overtime periods as there seemed to be more pushing and shoving in the extra time than shots.

GAME NOTES
  • Harford was unable to capitalize on any of their 17 corner kicks in the contest.
  • The Fighting Owls out-shot the Cardinals 31-9 and 12-2 for shots on goal, but the Cardinals scored on both of their SOGs as Tanner Peterson did not tally a save in the whole game.
  • Green's goal in the first half moved him into a tie with Jerry Washington for 3rd in the conference with 12 goals.
