Box Score BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team (6-4) got back in the win column against Penn State-Schulkill (0-1) on a brisk day of baseball at the Harford Sports Complex on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls built a huge lead held on for the 17-16 victory.
The offense erupted in the early going, including a six-run outburst in the fourth inning.
Luke Johnson clubbed a two-run triple in the fourth and totaled two hits in his first career start. Eleven other Fighting Owls recorded one hit in the win.
Andrew Carber (2-0) carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before a line drive fell in front of the center fielder. Despite holding the Nittany Lions out of the hit column, Carber labored through five-plus, throwing 98 pitches and walking eight batters.
TJ Pagan was called on to pitch the ninth for his third save.
The Fighting Owls host Northampton on Sunday at 10 a.m.
