BEL AIR, Md. -
Michael Devecchio was the star in Thursday's Harford baseball rout of Prince George's, 12-1. The lefthander allowed just three hits in six innings in his fourth win of the season. Harford improved to 30-7 and 16-1 in the conference, winning their 23rd game in 24 tries.
Devecchio struck out six batters, including the final batter of each of the first five innings. He got two batters looking and walked just one while allowing a pair of singles and a second-inning home run.
The team connected on a pair of home runs for the second-straight game, giving the Fighting Owls 77 on the year.
Daulton Weeks' towering two-run drive in the first was possibly the highest home run ever hit at the Harford Sports Complex. It was his MD JUCO-leading 13th blast of the season, just one away from tying the single-season school record and his 18th career homer, tying him for the all-time lead with teammate
Dominic DiSabatino, who blasted his 18th home run last week.
JP Vail also homered to center, his seventh of the season. Weeks, DiSabatino and
Nick Delp all had a pair of hits for Harford.
The Fighting Owls travel to Southern Maryland on Saturday.
