BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford baseball team (33-8) lost its just second game in 28 tries on Thursday to No. 1 Rowan-Gloucester, 19-8. The two teams combined for 31 hits and nine home runs.
Harford took a 4-0 lead in the second inning with a pair of two-run homers, one by
Ty Williams and the other by
Dominic DiSabatino. After falling behind 5-4 in the top of the fifth, the Fighting Owls took the lead back on DiSabatino's second two-run shot of the game, his 20th career home run. An RBI-single by
Daulton Weeks and a sacrifice fly by Williams extended the lead to 8-5, but the Roadrunners scored the final 14 runs of the game.
DiSabatino and
Joe Burton both went 3-for-5 in the loss and Weeks and
Andrew Valichka each collected two hits. DiSabatino knocked in four and Williams had three RBIs.
The loss ended Harford's 14-game win streak. The Fighting Owls travel to Montgomery on Friday.
