ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Harford women's lacrosse team's season came to an end in the NJCAA National Semifinals on Saturday. The Fighting Owls (14-4) lost to three-time defending national champion Monroe CC (17-0), 18-6.
The Tribunes jumped out to a 3-0 lead and led 11-1 at the half on their home field.
Cassidy Jones scored four of the six goals, including the lone tally in the first half.
Lauren Haggerty netted two goals and a pair of assists in her final Harford contest.
Megan Aro also tallied an assist on the afternoon.
The Fighting Owls completed a remarkable 2016 campaign, setting a school record with 14 victories. Haggerty and Jones finished the season with 97 and 95 points, respectively, second and third in the nation. Haggerty's 74 goals led the nation and Jones' 62 assists was 20 more than her closest competition. The two seasons are the top two in school history.
Allie Storke totaled 10 saves in her final game, finishing the year with 15 saves, second in the nation. Aro's assist gave her 33 on the year, a total that is third in the nation.
