COLUMBIA, Md. - The Harford women's lacrosse team is heading back to the NJCAA National Tournament for the fourth-straight time. The Fighting Owls clinched the berth with a 17-9 Region XX Semifinal victory over CCBC Essex on Saturday. Harford also advanced to the Region XX Championship contest on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Lauren Haggerty scored six goals as the Fighting Owls never trailed in the win. The six tallies moved the sophomore into a first-place tie for the national lead with 68 goals.
Cassidy Jones tallied four points with three assists, giving her 59 on the season, 29 more than anyone else in the nation.
Harford led 8-5 at the half and pulled ahead 16-6 in the second half as the Fighting Owls cruised to the NJCAA Tournament.
Allie Storke made seven saves in the win and the defense forced 20 turnovers.
Sierra Donovan caused three turnovers while also scoring one goal and assisting on another.
