  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls cruised to another dominating performance against a conference foe as Harford won their fourth straight game to start out the season.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford came out firing early as they went on a 29 point run to take a 31-2 lead after six minutes of play. The Fighting Owls were comfortably ahead 57-18 at halftime and used a 24-2 second half run to really put the game away.
  • With Adrienne Jones still out of the lineup, head coach Mike Seney went with Elaija Demeza to round out the starting five and she did not disappoint; leading the team with 17 points on an 8-15 night from the floor along with five rebounds and a couple of blocks.
  • Star forward Dahnye Redd failed to earn a double-double for the first time this season as she scored 12 points and just nine rebounds on the day.
  • Shawnkia McCallum continued to impress with her passing ability, collecting a season high nine assists in the game along with five steals and five rebounds.
  • Ryan Holder shot 7-10 from the floor to the tune of 16 points while Shantel McCray-Cheeks led all Harford scorers with 19 points off the bench along with eight rebounds.
  • The Fighting Owls finished the game with five different players in double-digit scoring with Francesca Vanegas adding 11 points to the cause with all 13 players who saw time on the court in the game scoring at least one basket.
  • On the other side of the court, Southern Maryland shot just 19% from the field and were 0-12 from behind the arc in the contest.

  • Harford travel to Frederick for another conference game on Tuesday, November 21 at 5 PM.
